Pay rates for individual employees are broken down by regular salary, extended contract salary and extra duty salary. To find those employees, either search by name or select the "Multiple positions" category on a district's page. Some employees who hold multiple positions in multiple schools may not be listed in a particular school's results. In a small number of instances, an employee who is listed as having multiple jobs may have changed positions during the course of the year, but was listed twice in the database originally provided by DESE despite currently holding only one position. This database makes note of when an employee holds multiple positions within a district or school. If a district did not report such changes to DESE, the changes would not be reflected in this database. Also, an educator could receive additional pay for duties added during the year or could receive a pay raise after say, completing a master’s degree. However, if an employee did not end up working for the entire school year – for example, if someone started working in a position during the middle of the year or left the position before the year ended – the pay figures listed in the data will still be the annual rates, and will not reflect what that individual was actually paid. In a majority of instances, the rates listed in this database will be the same as what an employee was actually paid. The data that is available contains the annual pay rates for educators, according what was provided to DESE. If a district or school did not send payroll data or sent incomplete payroll data to the state, some or all of its employees may not be included. To make salaries more comparable, the figures listed are based off of regular term salaries, and do not include pay earned for additional duties.
